Hey, listeners. You are now tuned in to another episode of Purposely Restored. I'm your host, Jujara Singleton, a Christian mindset and growth coach, licensed clinical social worker, and transformational speaker. In this corner of the podcast world, we're about faith healing and transformation. We focus on renewing our minds, breaking free from strongholds, and stepping into the life God has called us to. Your identity is already secured in Christ, and your purpose flows from who God created you to be. So let's be restored and renewed as we walk boldly in faith through Christ Jesus together. Are you ready? Then let's dive in to the next episode. Life can get overwhelmingly fast. Between responsibilities, expectations, unexpected curveballs like loss, loss of job, loss of people. It's just easy to end up feeling like you're drowning. Okay? But overwhelm does not come from God. He does not want us to feel like we can't handle life or can't go on. So today we're going to be talking about how to break free from overwhelm and create peace in the middle of chaos. We. We want to move like Jesus and. And be on some peace. Be still to the storm. We want to be like Jesus and be getting good sleep on the boat while it's chaotic and storming around us. So we're going to talk about, how do we do that? Okay, so if you've been feeling stressed, stretched way too thin, or like there's just no space to breathe, this episode is for you. So let's just start off with taking an inhale inside. Let's. Let's just take a big inhale. I want to welcome you to Purposely Restored the podcast, where we have real conversations about faith healing and living with purpose. I'm Jarjara Singleton, a Christian mindset and growth coach, licensed clinical social worker, and a speaker. I'm passionate about helping people grow spiritually and emotionally so they can live out their purpose in Christ. So without further ado, let's jump right into today's conversation. Y'all see how I had to switch up the tone? You know, we have to take our deep breaths, and we have to just relax a little bit because, you know, life be life in. And at the end of the day, we gotta remain in position, right? And so how are we gonna do that? Let's. Let's talk about it. Step number one, recognize what's actually stealing your peace. I want you to ask yourself, what is making me feel overwhelmed? That is the first step we have to explore with ourselves and God, what is causing these triggers within ourselves. Right. Are you over committed to things? Are you distracted? Are you trying to control everything around you? Are you laying your burdens at the feet of Jesus? Right. We know that Scripture tells us in Matthew 11:28, Come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Are we practicing going to Jesus and laying it at his feet? Are we relinquishing control? Are we grabbing hold of peace, of joy, of grace that we have access to so that we can relinquish feeling as though we have to solve everything and we have to be a certain way? All of that is important when it comes to understanding what is causing us to feel chaotic. Step number two, make sure you're setting boundaries and protecting your peace. Oh, my goodness. Not every yes is from God, y'all. You got to learn how to say no. A holy no. Okay? To what does not align with your assignment. Okay? If it's time, with people, relationships, being on the phone, like I be setting some hard boundaries. Do you hear me? Now I give myself permission to say no. And you want to also make sure you're giving yourself permission to just pause, to reset, and to refill your spirit. It's okay for you to be still in God, right? We know that the Lord tells us to be still and know that he is God because at the end of the day, when we look at that scripture, he's saying he's going to be exalted, he's going to be glorified throughout the earth. And so we don't have to try to be moving and grooving and doing all the things with all the people and trying to stay busy, being busy bodies. Instead, we need to learn how to pipe down. We need to learn how to chill out. We need to learn who does not need to be in our space because we don't know what spirits are attached to those individuals that are actually draining our peace. Hold on, wait a minute, let me find out. Right? So we want to make sure that we're protecting our peace and our time and we're stewarding it well. Right? We want to make sure that we are not getting in our own way when it comes to managing our peace and, and the space that God has placed us in. Ok? And so when we go into our step number three, we want to make sure that we're shifting from a striving type of a mindset to trusting God. Right? Are you trying to do everything in your own strength? Like, are you trying to take on all of what God told you? Right? Yeah. He gave you that that promise by way of a prophet or apostle, whatever it was a prophetic word you received and now you're trying to fulfill that prophecy in your own streng. Like, yes, God told you this was going to happen, but he didn't say that he was going to do it by you accomplishing it on your own. Like, sometimes we're trying to move ahead of God, sometimes we're, you know, trying to rely on our strength. But how is that, how is that giving God the glory if we're trying to do it in our own strength, right? When we're just striving, striving, striving. But we're not actually trusting God to do what he said he's going to do the way he said he's going to do it. It doesn't mean we're stagnant and we're not participating with God. We're just not exhausting ourselves trying to make what he said he's going to do happen. So we want to make sure that we're, we're aligning ourself with what the Word is over our life. Because God is not asking us to be perfect. He's asking us to be faithful. And so a lot of times we are looking for perfection. I know for me, the Lord has been breaking perfectionism in me because it was rooted from childhood. And when you have certain core beliefs thinking you're not, not good enough, right? Whether it was instilled on purpose or not on purpose, some of those things get deeply rooted. And so now you're constantly striving for what perfection should look like in your mind or what you think God looks at because it's based on how you were raised. And that is not what God wants from us at all. It can cause mental and emotional chaos where we're trying to achieve certain things by works and not by what can only be achieved by grace and faith alone, right? It's just like salvation, right? We can't achieve that by our works. It can only be achieved by grace and faith alone. Like, it's only by faith, it's only by God's grace that we're saved. So like it's the same thing with living out life with Christ. We cannot try to just think everything is gonna come by works. No, it says faith without works is dead, right? So there has to be FAI to be the substance of something hoped for, the evidence of if what's not seen. There has to be that first and then you add your works to it, right? And so we want to make sure that we understand that God is not asking us to accomplish his will in our life with our own strength and abilities. It's just not possible. And he knows that. He knows that we need him in order to accomplish what we're asking of Him. And what he's stating for us is our portion. So just as it says in Isaiah 26 and 3, you will keep in perfect peace those whose mind is stayed on you or steadfast because they trust in you, right? And so when you trust in someone, you're not concerned about whether or not it's going to happen. You're not thinking about whether they're going to come back. You're not afraid of abandonment, rejection, any of those things, whether it's gonna get done because you trust that they're gonna. They're gonna take care of it. You sleep peacefully at night because you know you're safe, right? And we need to take on that same kind of mindset and thought process when it comes to Jesus and walking this life out with him and y'all, I'm telling you, I'm practicing what I preach. If. If anybody knows me, they know I. I do not like hypocrites. And I. I. One thing in Jesus name that I practice is not being a hypocrite, because I can. Are not about what they're preaching, teaching, talking about. Like, it should definitely hit you first. You should live it out, make sure it. It works. Unless it's been proven or tried. If we're talking in therapeutic, you know, ways, right? If it's been proven and tried by the people, that's a little bit different. Somebody has had to have tried it and it worked. Like, I have to see that it has worked. So even with this, you guys, like, this is even where I'm at, where I'm just, like, I'm just standing on faith, like, it's got to happen. All right, God, you said that I'm gonna have a husband, and it's gonna. He's gonna be like this. And you have stated that I am going to be married. So I'm just gonna believe that you're gonna bring him and he's gonna be everything that I need him to be, and I'm everything that he needs me to be. Because I know that I have not been faithful and steadfast for nothing. Because at the end of the day, you put the desires in my heart and you confirmed that. So when it comes to me saying no to all these other, you know, dudes and, and really just protecting my time Right. My peace and my having those boundaries over my space, like, I know that it's not in vain, right? Like, of course we're not doing it just for the reward, but it's just because we want to honor God, right? And in honoring God, when he states he's going to do something, now we're standing on what he said because his word does not return void, right? And so it's just like, even when it comes work in my career, like, I'm trusting you with it. Am I laying those burdens down when they come up, when I start to feel like, Lord, like, what's happening? Like, where's the door at? What are we doing? Like, I don't really understand. Like, it's not looking. Like, I'm. I'm wanting it to look. I've been waiting. I need you to help me keep waiting some more. Like, of course, that is a real conversation. It's a real thing. But in that, I'm not allowing myself to be wavered. Like, I gotta remain unshakable, immovable. Because at the end of the day, like, I'm holding down my position. The enemy's not gonna push me out my spot before the promise comes through. He not gonna push me on my spot before God says, I, I'm pulling your card. I'm pulling your ticket. Here we go. We finna run that. Because I know that essentially the reason why I'm on this earth is to fulfill a purpose, right? Like, that's the. That was the whole thing of the enemy. Even trying to assassinate to begin with is by way of saying, I didn't have a purpose. But God has already showed me that that's a lie and has told me the purpose on my life. And so it's like, while I'm waiting for it to be fulfilled, all the things, all the chatter that the enemy wants to bring, I'm just in a space where it's like, I'm cool on that. You feel like it's like, I'm cool on that because I have to keep my mind on Christ. Every time it starts to get loud and a little bit too chaotic here, I'm just like, I gotta keep my mind on Christ because you said, you're gonn me in perfect peace, right? And I love Psalm 18, verses 1 and 2. It says, I love you, Lord. Lord, you are my strength, right? Some of you know the song by Todd Dulaney, right? I love that. You know I love you, oh, Lord, my strength, y'all. I ain't listen. It's Late. When I'm recording, I'm not going to sing. But he says, the Lord is my rock, my fortress and my Savior. My God is my rock in whom I find protection. He is my shield, power that saves me and my place of safety. The Lord is my fortress, my deliverer, my God, my rock, my goodness. Like, just think about the words. Like, I can run in and find safety in the Lord. And so I find peace in that. Because throughout history, when you've dealt with trauma, you've dealt with abandonment, you've dealt with betrayals on major levels in being ostracized and bullied and targeted and just so many things that causes, like, ptsd, okay, PTSD to the T. All right? It can cause you to operate from that place instead of from this, the place of the Holy Spirit. And those things are not supposed to control us. The Holy Spirit is supposed to control us. That's what's supposed to have government over our mind. And so when we. When we recall or the enemy wants to make us go back to a place where we felt unsafe, whether it's someone saying something or something coming up and. And the enemy wants that to trigger you to that space, we have to make a choice to remember that we are safe. We are safe. We are no longer in that life. We no longer know that person known. A man after the flesh, he's here that. That he is inhuman being that he. That person's dead. And I refus. Live in lack. I just. I refuse to live in lack anymore. I refuse to live in the place of fight, flight or freeze. And so when that comes up, a fight, flight or freeze, I run to my safety. I run to the one who is my fortress, my strong tower, my protection. Because a lot of times the response is not in alignment with what reality is. And the enemy wants to distort that for us. So this week, I challenge you guys to. To. To take one step. I want you to take one step to reclaim your peace back. Right? Think about what is the one thing that you can release to God this week? What is one thing? What is one thing that is disturbing your mind, that is disturbing your heart? Whether it's a decision, if it's a relationship, it could be conviction, y'all. If it's something coming up over and over and you don't have a peace about it, you need to go to God and see. Is this something that you're telling me to let go of, walk away from? You're making me to be aware of, to go in prayer about, like, sometimes God disturbs our peace to get our attention. So I don't know who that's for. But you want to make sure you're taking these things into prayer so that you can know if it's God disturbing your peace, so that he can get your attention, so you can make sudden moves and decisions according to the Holy Spirit. That is right for your purpose in your future. Or is it your flesh, your. You know, your flesh, you're trying to. Your. Your soul, right, which houses your emotions and your thought processes, desires and all those things. Is it just getting too loud? And it's causing your peace to be disrupted because your. Your flesh is clashing with the spirit, right? They're constantly at war. So is it possible that your flesh is at war with the spirit and it's just too loud and chaotic? So now we need to discipline that flesh. We need to make that soul shut up so that we can hear the spirit of the Lord, so that we can obtain what he has said for us, which is peace, right? Or is it simply that we have taken our eyes off of the King and we've put our eyes on the sinking sand? We've put our eyes on the water instead of on Jesus, right? It makes me think about the analogy of when Peter was walking on water and it was when he took his eyes off of Christ that he began to sink. What happened in his mind? What happened there where he began to sink? When we begin to look at everything around us and where we begin to focus and meditate on things of this world, we lose sight. The sight that is supernatural that God has given us, the focus that God has given us. And so we want to make sure that we put our attention back on Christ, who gives us a peace that supersedes and bypasses all understanding. He can give us peace in situations that just does not make sense, when we should be losing our mind. God can give us a peace within that no man can take because the world did not give it. But we have to set our mind on him. We have to make a choice to constantly realign our mind, our life, our desires, our choices with him. So I hope that this episode blessed you this week. If it did, I would love to hear your feedback. I would love to hear. What is the one thing that you are relinquishing? Like, what is the one thing that you're like. I'm letting that go. Okay. I'm letting that go. I'm. I'm reclaiming my peace. What is the one thing? Drop that in the comments. You can dm me. If you're on the podcast platforms listening, there should be a description for my Buzzspot fan mail which will send me a text in the description. I want to hear what your takeaways were from this episode. I want to hear what you're relinquishing control over. If you need prayer in a certain space, go ahead and share that as well. And I know this episode was a little short this week, y'all, but I'm trying some new things out and I'm just trying to make sure that more so just pushing out the content for you guys. And of course when the Lord leads, we we we'll some more hefty conversations on the podcast episodes. But that is all I have for you guys today. And again I pray that this blesses you and let's just quickly pray out over this episode. So Father, I just want to thank you for every listener. I want to thank you for every viewer, everyone who ever comes across this episode. I pray in the name of Jesus that they find solace, they find contentment and peace in every step that has been made practical. God, if they didn't know where to start, Lord Father, if their were contemplating, you know, permanent decisions for a temporary situation, if they were, Lord, contemplating things that would lead them away from you, if they felt like they were losing their mind, I pray and I speak peace right now to their situation. I speak peace to their mind. I speak peace, oh Father, to Lord God, the storm that is raging, Lord Father, that is causing them to live in a space of chaos that no one even knows of. Lord Father, I pray that you are going to break every form of deception, Lord Father, them even wearing a fake mask that does not match what's going on in their head. I pray, oh God, that the inside will begin to reflect the outside, that the peace that they are exuding, Lord Father, will truly be what they have Hallelujah. Holding close and dear on the inside of them. I pray in the name of Jesus that if anyone doesn't know how to say no, that you give them the boldness through the Holy Spirit to be able to say no when they need to say no, to walk away when they need to walk away, oh God, I pray in the name of Jesus that you would make clear the areas where the enemy is trying to bring confusion. Because your Word tells us that you are not the author of confusion. Hallelujah. But you give us power, you give us love, you give us a sound mind. That is what you give us, God, not confusion. And so Father, I pray in the name of Jesus, that you're breaking confusion now. You're breaking confusion that is coming through the frequencies of chaos, Lord Father, you're breaking, oh God, Father, every murmur that the enemy is trying to cause in their ear to cause them to feel overwhelmed. I pray that you're breaking overwhelm off of your people right now in the name of Jesus, that they are finding themselves at peace, that they are grabbing a hold of your word and that they are claiming what is rightfully theirs by way of inheritance. I pray in the name of Jesus, oh God, Father, that they don't search to make it hard, but they allow you to make it easy. Hallelujah. That they allow the black and white to be black and white. That we don't muddy it up and make it gray and make it hard. Father, you make it easy. Your ways are clear, what you require, what you are asking of us is clear. And I thank you Jesus for making it clear. Thank you for steps today, Lord God, that can be even put into words that we can all take, that we can all practice on a daily basis to just begin to embody peace and be near you, Lord Father, and access greater depths of your peace, of your glory, of your strength. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. I love you guys and I will see you in the next episode. Bye. Hey beautiful people. Thanks for tuning in. Did you enjoy that episode?
